Search goes on for radio presenter
A popular Gaelic radio presenter has gone missing, sparking a police search.
Niall Iain MacDonald (33) has not been in touch since last Thursday, but was seen on the Storwnoway-Ullapool car last Frisday morning heading for the mainland.
Mr MacDonald is the presenter of the youth music programme "Rapal" on Gaelic radio, which became so popular it transferred to television with the same level of success. He was awarded the radio Personality of the Year award at the Celtic Film and television Festival two years ago.
Northern Constabulary have appealed for witnesses who may have seen someone matching Mr MacDonald's description. He is described as six foot one, of slim build with dyed blonde hair.
A BBC spokesperson said: "We are concerned tha Niall Iain has not been in touch since last Thursday and are supporting the appeal by Northern Constabulary for any information regarding his whereabouts.
"Niall Iain is a talented, award-winning broadcaster and a popular member of the Gaelic team. His collegues are hoping he makes contact soon.
Tha mi an dòchas gu bheil Niall Iain ceart gu leòr agus gum bi e air ais a dh'aithghearr.
